cc-tapis is a company based in Milan with an imaginative approach and bespoke attitude. Its catalog features a wide selection of rugs, created in partnership with forward-thinking designers and brands, and reflects a unique blend of expertise with creative freedom.
We explored the rug-making process and integrated it with our digital design tools we use everyday, starting from the fundamental unit— the knot and the glyph. This led us to a natural connection with ASCII, a form of digital art that uses keyboard characters to create images, originating in early computer culture and text-based communication.
We created a website that serves as both a tool and a narrative of the company’s vision addressing the need for diverse audiences and functionalities. Multiple visual languages allowed us to build a narrative-driven browsing experience while ensuring an extremely functional and seamless navigation across various content types.
